My phd dissertation topic was "Three-dimensional spine kinematics". As a part of my research I developed a software program called pyTrack to perform 2D->3D image registration using digitally reconstructed radiographs.

How to minimize motion in the unstable spine.
For over 8 years, I have been collaborating with a multi-institutional group to try to improve the initial management of individuals that have suffered a catastrophic spinal injury. We have investigated the best ways to spineboard someone with an unstable injury, how to transfer someone between hospital beds, how to position someone for surgery, how to remove football equipment and how to provide kinetic therapy.
